The Company
BuildOps enables commercial contractors to run their entire business on one software solution by taking every part of their operations and consolidating them into one place, giving users a centralized, easy-to-use, powerful platform to help optimize and grow operations.
The platform was designed to help users manage their daily services, but failed to cater to users with longer-term projects that could span over several weeks, months, or even years to complete.
Project Management Module
To better serve companies that are project-based, I designed a cloud-based construction project management system that offers enhanced communication, accurate forecasting, and key metric insights.
Dashboard
One of the most powerful features of the project management module is the real-time project management dashboard, which offers users an array of valuable tools and insights.
Each project dashboard not only displays critical KPIs that are essential for success, but it also provides a comprehensive overview of key metrics, milestones, and tasks. With its user-friendly interface and customizable display options, project managers can easily monitor progress, make informed decisions, and ensure efficient collaboration among team members.
This dynamic and interactive dashboard empowers users to stay on top of their projects, identify potential bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to optimize performance.
Scheduling
Labor-management visibility is another project management feature that allows project managers to stay informed about their technicians' movements, arrival times, and assigned tasks, ensuring smooth progress throughout the project.
With this feature, project managers have real-time updates on the whereabouts of their team members, which enables them to make informed decisions and adjustments to keep the project on track. By having constant visibility, project managers can effectively allocate resources, address any potential issues promptly, and maximize productivity. This level of transparency enhances coordination and collaboration among team members, ultimately leading to successful project completion.
Cross-platform flexibility
I also designed the project management module for mobile, which required adapting the interface and functionality to match the unique requirements of mobile devices.
The biggest difference between the platforms, however, lies in the distinct target user groups they cater to. While the desktop version primarily serves professionals working in office environments, the mobile version targets individuals on the go, enabling them to manage their projects efficiently from anywhere. This necessitated incorporating intuitive and simplified navigation, as well as optimizing the user experience for smaller screens.
By considering the specific needs and preferences of each user group, I ensured that both versions of the project management module offer seamless and tailored experiences.
