About me
My name is Ashley Tai and I graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Product Design Engineering and have been working as a product designer for six years. I’m currently a product designer at Tarro, where I work across a vertically integrated ecosystem spanning voice ordering, payments, delivery, marketing, and POS.
I lead complex, cross-product initiatives while mentoring junior designers and helping maintain consistency across the platform. My engineering background shapes how I approach design. I think in systems, consider operational realities, and focus on building tools that are not only intuitive, but scalable and resilient.
My Mission
Understanding what people truly need beneath surface-level requests allows us to solve the problems that actually matter. As a product designer, I strive to combine empathy with systems thinking to create solutions that are both human-centered and operationally effective.
I am motivated by complex challenges and ambiguous problem spaces. I enjoy untangling messy workflows, identifying root causes, and designing thoughtful systems that improve performance, efficiency, and clarity. For me, design is not just about creating interfaces. It is about building tools that meaningfully improve how people work and live.
I am constantly learning, iterating, and pushing myself to grow through the discomfort that comes with solving hard problems.

I was a competitive gymnast for 18 years and had the incredible opportunity to compete as a Division I athlete on the Stanford Women’s Gymnastics Team from 2016 to 2020.
Being a varsity athlete profoundly shaped who I am. It instilled in me disciplined time management, resilience under pressure, and a deep appreciation for teamwork. Balancing the demands of elite athletics and academics taught me how to perform in high-stakes environments, embrace feedback, and continuously push beyond my comfort zone.
